First General Baptist Church has a vibrant Children's Ministry. Sunday School is offered to all children, with a nursery provided for those younger than 18 months. Sunday morning worship includes a time of learning about the love of God through lesson, song, and games. On Wednesday evenings, our children's choir (the M & M's) provides an outlet for children to learn to express their love of God through song. The M & M's perform during Sunday morning worship services once each month. The children participate in other activities as well, including seasonal parties, field trips and service projects.
Youth group, trips, retreats…….join in the fun! The FGBC Youth Group is an awesome bunch of kids that love God and love to have fun! The Youth Group meets for Sunday School and on Wednesday evenings. Throughout the year, fun activities are planned for the youth including the annual ski trip, Church Camp, Six Flags, and more!!
Our music ministry is a blend of contemporary praise and worship choruses with precious older hymns. Our Worship Choir includes youth through adults, and blesses us with creative and harmonic specials. The Praise Team is a group which assists in leading the praise and worship time through vocal and instrumental accompaniment. In addition, the music ministry is an integral part of our special services at both Easter and Christmas.
Our ladies ministry brings with it a strong fellowship network, energy and enthusiasm. Our women's Bible Study is held each Wednesday night; it's goal is to offer ministry to women and by women. "Ladies Night Out" is a ministry which may include a day of shopping, meeting together at a local restaurant, or an evening at one of our homes. All women are welcome to attend.
The Brotherhood/Men in Action is a group of men determined to be the men that God wants them to be. The Brotherhood shows the love of God by actively being His hands and feet. Some past projects have included repairing roofs and siding, installing wheelchair ramps, trimming trees and much more!! Each year they host the "Wild Game Supper" as a way to raise money for their many projects. The men also enjoy opportunities to fellowship during "Men's Day Out," getting together to shoot trap or visiting with each other during an all men's luncheon.
